Fahrenheit 451

It kinda blew. Mostly just the screenplay. It brings up a challenge that films about the future face which novels do not: new technology. The book could refer pretty generically to new inventions and ways of living life (home assistants) because novels focus on inner life and experience. Movies have to show that material existence, being a primarily visual medium.

It actually appeared in the beginning to have some promise! I was ready to ignore its many departures from the source material in favor of what they might do with it, but they didn’t do anything satisfying with it. In fact the plot was quite bizarre, and in some ways went beyond the my ability to suspend my disbelief.
