I think I’m recommending this film more so for its depiction of the demoralizing descent into poverty and destitution, comically presented as it was, than for its primary premise. In fact the primary premise makes up a very short segment of the film, one holdup scene, a montage of further holdups, and then the last one, after which there is a kind of strangely composed heist with some really good visual comedy, and then the film is basically over.
But actually, pay attention to the music. The original soundtrack is surprisingly good for a comedy like this. I loved it.
