I don’t go for many superhero movies but I love animation and that’s how I got hooked on the Spider-Verse trilogy. The second film doesn’t disappoint in terms of exploring the medium’s capacity for visual story telling through color and camera work. Scenes have a fast rhythm. Taking stylistic cues from comic books and animation alike, the camera whips and swings while the frame splinters across time and space.
The story left me pondering for a long time the abstraction multidimensional contact stories satisfy at their core.
