The Banshees of Inisherin

Oh I loved this one. The wonderful natural shots kept the rapidly escalating conflict provincial and quiet. The music was also excellent, playing a similarly significant role in the story, it was often entertainingly diegetic. The actors were incredible, with their well-developed characters and great one-liners. The allegory should have been perhaps more obvious to me from the get go, but for others as slow as I was, the final dialogue makes it clear without moralizing. Martin McDonagh has such a knack for mixing sorrow and comedy.
