What an uncomfortable film to watch! Early in the movie I wasn’t sure what angle the main character was playing, and then as it continued I got still more confused as he continued to lie. Seemingly for no reason. As he putzed around through a subterfuge for which he was comically ill-prepared. It was hard for me to pay attention to much technical about this film as Damon’s character threw constant curve balls. This character! The wikipedia article about Mark Whitacre and the one about the relevant price-fixing conspiracy make his story sound much less interesting than the film makes it out to be, though they do mention his increasingly bizarre behavior. This film made me chuckle nervously for its entire runtime. Definitely worth a watch.
